Hearts Entranced

Alone, the calm waters of a river...
Night fell into a trance.
Silent echoes whisper, "Tonight -
A new romance."
Reflecting on the water's edge,
A pair of silhouettes
Cast shadows of her stare.
Unaware, alas, of love anew;
Two lives lived of solitaire,
Across the river's stream, did stare.
And on the moon, I laid a prayer
That gently rested there.
So I dove once more,
My heart in hand.
