Wish I Never Loved You

Topic: SongLyrics

I thought Prince Charming
existed outside of fairy tales
Here he was in bed with me
speaking of what life would be with me
saying I love you like we would never fail
The he watched it all fall

Nothing coulde come between us
At least that's what you said
But I was a victim of your foolish heart
You have me a year's worth of love,
and I watched it crack
After all that, baby, here's what I give back...

I give back your shirts
if you give back my pride
I give back your blanket
if you take these tears from my eyes
I'm keeping all the artwork
to remind me what not to do
I'm breaking my own heart, baby,
wishing I never loved you

It kills to know Prince Charming
would rather believe the lies
You wouldn't ask for the truth
wouldn't listen to me cry myself to sleep at night
I been chain-smoking cigarettes
to cover up the fact
that you're making me snap
So here's what I give back...

I give back the rings, baby,
if you give back my heart
I give back your sweater
when you quit making this so hard
Give back my sleepless nights
tell me when it's through
I don't want to be angry no more
I wish I never loved you

I give back your promises
if you give back my life
I give back your innocence
when you give me peace of mind
I'm tired of holding on
to something that was never true
It kills to say it, baby,
But I wish I never loved you

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
