A War of the Seasons or Something

Andy,
I was watching some mafioso lecture
you were by the counter, uploading camera pictures
this day seemed to fly on by
it's been a year since I saw you smiling, now even longer as I wave goodbye
and I hear a voice, it's angry screaming
i see a nob click and echo
you could do me justice, and save the lecture
Buddy, trust me, I know
But I can't say it loud, can't say I'm proud
to be holding a ring in my pocket that's forged in a cloud

Andy,
we can lecture this off if we try hard enough
say some are born right and others born tough
and I'm sure it will make it feel right
but all the logic in this mixed up worlds not gonna bring this fight light
and we could tell each other there's no such thing as bad people
and there's no one person you can't save
but what's the point in arguing with you, when your dignity's been caged?
Andy night, it just makes me focus, I'm sure you get my drift
and we've been friends since we were kids,
but brother, I've got nothing left to lift

And she, I don't feel bad toward her anymore
And she, she just doesn't see that your soul's not a mat you keep stuck at the door
And she, maybe it's just me, but I feel she's getting sicker
but nothings sadder, then fighting your battles like a martyred attacker

Andy,
i have to say what I've never been told
maybe spring doesn't come easy, it's gotta fight off the cold
a war of seasons or something
you think this is what it's like, i know she's your first
but a heart's just a heart, and a lie can be cursed
i don't know about God, and even less about faith
but it just seems wrong to give up all the talent she gave
into this false icon, a lover who just feeds off of control
I'm not attacking your pride, I'm missing your soul

Andy,
sometimes two people just don't belong
but they go on and wage love until it's brutal and long
did you remember what it was like going outside
without wondering where is it you hide?
this is harder then anything I've ever had to say
to be a promise of the future as I watch you throw it away

And she, she'll probably invite everyone you dislike
and she, will wear a gown that's off colored white
and she, will probably give me that look in her eyes, like hey there, surprised?
to see me here, I'll take it from here, I'll take it all away right here

Andy,
have you ever seen someone put a firefly in a glass
thinking the presents just the future, and the past doesn't last?

Yes the shoot the messenger syndrome.
This is powerful write, it is good you are letting it out. Sometimes that is all we can do is sit back and let them do it on their own.

I hope it all works out

Michelle
