Under the bridge the downtrodden stay
Where the neither sunshine, nor clouds cement holds gray
The puddles stay cracked, and their dreams brittle
An from above, the few stand little
But they strive forth past many days
Because all bridges will fall...
someday.

I guess many of us strolling the halls of ypdc tonight are on the blue streak side.....
This poem is small in word but huge in emotion and feeling. You let the reader feel your heart.

Really enjoyed this poem. You only say what needs to be said and it's so much more effective than a long drawn out narrative. Kudos |

Brevity. I love a poem like this....brief but so full of emotion. All I could see when reading this was homeless folk, the ones who reside under the bridges and overpasses....Oh my, to be downtrodden in such a way. Ones' heart, one's soul so sad...I'm not exactly sure where you were with this, but that's where you took me. I enjoyed the read.
Peace,
Laura |
