We existed

Contributed by lavenderfeathers on Sunday, 8th July 2007 @ 06:03:28 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Give me time to remember this world the way it was
Give me the proof in a tear that we existed
Give me a smile so that my heart opens once again
Give me the hope to believe in the promises we once swore on
Everything changes so suddenly
Once we walked this world holding each other's hands
But destiny played with the strings of our love like a child and when it became bored
cut the strings that kept us together
and now You can’t see me, even when in standing right in front of you
I scream at the top of my lungs but you still can’t hear me
my tears cannot reach you anymore
no matter how hard I try
I only drown myself further and further in these tears
I close my eyes and imagine the beautiful world that cradled our dreams
All that’s left to do is to pick up the pieces and cherish the chance that was given to us
even if it was brief
I’m grateful to have been the one to touch your heart
As I walk away
and look back at you for the last time
I wipe away the tears and a delicate smile is painted onto my face
I was able to love and be loved by the man who once seemed so far away and untouchable by a little star like me.

Wow, that put tears in my eyes. So sad of a write, but the writer is so brave in the ending. Lovely piece of writing, but so very heart-wrenching.
Peace,
Laura

Oh my, how utterly solemn. I defy anyone with a heart
to not be moved by this piece. Wow. It really makes
one stop and think about all they have been blessed
with in this life and to not take one solitary minute for
granted. It seems that we forever look at relationships
more closely in retrospect. What wonders could we
uncover if we were to give them that undivided attention
while submerged in the whole of it?

Beautiful piece. Painfully beautiful. I look
forward to more of your work.

I love your screen name by the way......

This write is beautiful, a tear jerker as well, I loved the openness with it.

Sometimes you read something and it wrenches at your heartstrings.
This is so moving and so beautifully put.
