Peruvian Petals
Shadow of a doubt, forces my mind to hurt
A tiresome mind pushes me, nearly to burst
As the presence of destruction, appears to be weak
Nightmares make it very hard, i cant even speak
Evil consumes me now, my soul has been tainted
My spirit has spoken, blood-spilled, as if painted
Tears fall freely down my eyes, caressing my thighs
As the warmth of the rose petal, withers and dies
I feel empty now, sadness surrounds my cause
For the pain and suffering of life, makes my heart pause
Dropping to my knees, sadly, embracing the air
Looking at my queen, with empty eyes, a tearful stare
Embrace my love, and call forth, the diety of pain
For the love that once we had, has since long been slain
Thrust this dagger in this hole, that once held a heart
Which marks the end of us, there's no more trust, forcing us apart
Columbian Rose, my queen, take with you my burden
The burden of a thousand tear drops, time tends to be frozen
What life is that to bare, a life to care, for one who does doubt
For the eternal flame of love for me, begins to fizzle out
Seek redemption for, the pain you cause, enflaming my soul
Rainy day to night, heart full of spite, or maybe bullet holes
So come forth to me, with eyes of envy, and rescue my pain
Cause a life not yours, is a life forlorn, id rather go insane
Mi amor, mi todo, te amo cant you see
For me and you, like heaven and earth, were just meant to be
I wish i could show you, or perhaps hold you, and tell you, Nathalie
That im prepared, to be by you, nothing less than an eternity...

First of all I would like to extend a welcome to YPDC.
This poem is beautiful and flowing touched with hints of sadness. The flow and images you create are both wonderful.
Also....... Most times I dont comment if Im asked to just so you know.
When you are new here it is wise to extend yourself and not only write your beautiful poetry but also read and comment on others work.
Hope to see you around for a long time to come

I have to say that this is a spectacular piece of work. Your rhythm and rhyme are smooth and flowing and all your descriptions create livid images. The gloomy beginning but hopeful ending suggests some resolve to the issue. Despite the many dark sad stanzas, I still consider this as a love poem. Perhaps even greater than a standard love poem because despite these problems despite these tendencies towards giving up, love and devotion prevails. |
