I love you Daddy

Contributed by patp on Friday, 6th July 2007 @ 01:48:30 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

As I sit here and think about the worst
My heart and mind feel like they could burst
My eyes are glossy as they fill with tears
I confront my thoughts and face my fears
The thought of you having to go through this pain
Is like thunder and lightning without the rain.
I begin to think of the times when I was small
Maybe two or three feet tall
Looking up at you wasn't only because of my lack of height
It was also due to the amazing and wonderful man in my sight
You have always been the one who I'd see
Looking down and staring back at me
The man standing before me was the best of them all
He would always help me up no matter what made me fall
He would dry my tears and comfort my soul
Helping me to achieve my goals
I could only hope that you would one day see
What you have deeply instilled within me
Your love, your caring, your tender but firm touch
From you, I have learned so much
Now you have passed these traits on to my girl
And no matter what you will always be in my world.
I guess what I need to say
Is thank you daddy for everything and everyday

I love you Daddy

Another truly beautiful write and it had to be great to have a father like that. I hope my daughters feel that way about me.

This is a wonderful write that expresses great passion for your father. I am sure he was very proud to have a daughter such as you. May your once again be filled with peace and joy each and everyday.
