The fire is coming.
We're all awake.
It's been coming, but with time it grows.
When it does come, forget the tickets, no more shows.
Forget about the Mr. Do-Goods and the average Joes.
Forget about the majestic birds, there will be crows.
Forget about the sun and the moon, things of the like everybody truly knows.
Forget about family, for when the heat comes, we have already chose.
It's going to leave you running and spinning like a fan.
It's going to make you run and spin, run and spin like only man can.
It's going to make you come full-circle, come full-circle to where you began.
It's going to make you look back and justify what you shouldn't understand.
Understand that for us, the fire is the end of our end, God can only put us back in the mud.
Understand that fires can only be put out by a flood.
Understand that all others who stood the stand payed with blood.
Understand that fires destroy and do not create, only God is our true life-giving bud.
It's been coming, but it finally came, and with time it grew.
What in the world did we ever do?
Did we deserve the worst of the worst, the worst pain we could go through?
What kind of fire came and undid everything we knew to be true?
Wake up.
The fire is coming.

Well holy heck!! This was I N T E N S E !!!
I was especially captivated by the title. Wow. What a twist. It truly sets the mind
to ponder. yes, yes, YES! There is a fire within us, I SO agree and we must
learn from it, and live with it, without it completely consuming us. There is no
time for apathy. Passion is an enormous motivator, but it must be tempered
with common sense and intelligence ...
Oh my, I love this. It speaks volumes to me. Truly remarkable!!

Hmmm...
I liked this. It flowed very well. I loved most all of the lines...aside from the one about spinning like only man can....didn't quite get that one...
it did sound good...but maybe I'm missing something.
NE way...I love this. It's a thinking poem...and those are always the best. Thanks for suggesting a good read. |

I really liked the format of this poem.
The repetition too.
It flowed very well and there's a bunch of other good things to say that I can't think of right now because I just woke up. |
