Solitude is on me
moody thoughts and sad songs
weave overcast days,
and I’m wondering
will the sun ever shine.
the black dog of loneliness
nips at my heels,
and rejections coil in the post
It’s easy to laugh with friends
When you are one,
And the pain is only bad
Once you’re alone
It’s easy to show it all
When there’s nothing to hide,
And the rain is not so bad
Once you’re inside.
It’s hard to fall in love after
a certain time
the heart gets so rusty
it hurts to kiss.
I’m walking streets with
nowhere to go
and I’m wondering,
is this how it ends?
It’s easy to carry the world
When you’re adored,
And the strain is only bad
Once you’re ignored
It’s easy to throw it away
When time is yours,
And dream it can be found
On other shores.

*Hugs you from afar* This is beautiful, but so lonely. God it brings about so many thoughts and emotions for me. Makes me think of where I am in my own life. Sometimes you can have a partner and still fill so alone. I loved the picture you chose to accompany the piece. Wonderful writing as always.
Peace and hugs,

Your opening line is worded perfectly (it does decend upon one sometimes, doesn't it?). And there are other lines here that strike home... for their familiarity, I suspect.
There's more here than the words. Some will recognize that. The lucky ones... won't.
Well done, ito.

Such powerful writing.Slips into the reader like
a slow thrust from a cold cutlass.
Melancholy expertly written.
Life's a series of crests and troughs,so
they say.So here's a glass to the warm sunshine of the nexr crest,Friend.
