Oh innovator,alligator,
Clean those teeth so they'll shine later!
My rhyme is basic, flow is simple,
Smiling's cute when one has dimples!
Your criticisms, taught in cold rooms,
Square and cheap and full of old gloom,
Drop the textbooks, pens are better,
Poems, stories, songs and letters!
Had a bad day, face is hurting,
From this style I'm not converting,
Sharing feelings, laughing crying,
Oh simple form there's no denying...

Sassy. I love your rhyming scheme. You know what? If you write something and you like it, no matter what anyone else says, it's still yours, hell with them. Writing is to please oneself, to heal oneself, to express oneself, yes it is wonderful if someone else reads you and loves it, but again if they don't....well wtf? I've learned you can't always please everyone. Keep writing and keep expressing.

I agree with Laura completely, if you feel pleased with what you've written then that's the main thing. Even if only one person likes a poem, to know you have touched another's soul with your words is always lovely.
In my mind it doesn't matter if a rhyme scheme'simple as long as its well handled, which this was.

Writing is from the inner of the one who wrote. it. Pfft n ones who do not like it. I bet half of mine do not rhyme...I write with the heart and feelings, and thats what counts. Good write, and keep writing the way you feel.
