Through morning fog they sleep

Contributed by zenith66 on Wednesday, 27th June 2007 @ 05:30:41 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The darkest night concealed its silent roll,
Its opaque blanket quelled the noisy world of man,
Silence, is all that it would meet there, the lulled and dumbfound town
In the unmoving city, swathed in buoyant dreams,

Its sodden fingers wrap around its houses and streets mundane,
The sleepy suburbs, Detached and semi detached., and all unremarkable,
I want to sleep at the window, my head in my hands as a child
And watch this miasma, hushed, slowly drifting by.

Shoot fire, I must apologize for not reading you more. (I promise to check out more of your work for this piece I really loved).
I take it you live in the Burbs my friend? At least that is the feel I got from this....

"The sleepy suburbs, Detached and semi detached., and all unremarkable"

I like that. I am such a country girl, I would feel imprisoned if I lived in the burbs. But then., you made it almost feel serene, even with the "miasma".

"And watch this miasma, hushed, slowly drifting by"

Thanks for sharing "your world".
Peace,
Laura
