Loving a Stranger (D is for Danger)

Contributed by FrancisWolf on Tuesday, 26th June 2007 @ 03:14:22 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The most evil thing I ever did
Was cross out these picture negatives
Shoot them down and throw them in the trash
Take a light, flick it in and turn it all to ash
Now you’re gone, like a song on a scratched c.d. disk
Without worries, there’s no cure, and we’ve nothing to risk
See Spot run, see Spot hide, see Spot crawl to my shed
Ugliness is dead, oh love, it’s gone, it’s wrong, it’s dead

I’ve been loving a stranger
D is for danger
Loving a stranger is easier
Then loving you, loving myself
I’ve been loving a stranger
D, D is for danger
Loving a stranger is easier
Then hating you

I don’t hate you, I hate everything about you
Like a long walk down a broken avenue
Where I left my goals, on a moaning road
As the little babies cry, and firstborn die
Collapse, we are pass what is right and wrong
Morals were questionable all along
You do not believe in them, so you don’t believe in me
I never existed, see?
Jack be nimble, jack be quick
Jack took some pills, now he’s sick
And the sickness can’t cure ugliness so dead
Ugliness is dead
See love? It’s gone, it’s wrong it’s dead

I’ve been loving a stranger
D is for danger
Loving a stranger is easier
Then loving you, loving myself
I’ve been loving a stranger
D, D is for danger
Loving a stranger is easier
Then hating you

I’ve seen a friend lost in recovery
A lover falling off of a bridge
A brother in the ground
A door knocking off of it’s hinge
So seeing you leave is like watching a lie
Physically get up and wave me goodbye
There’s nothing to a sunset except the warmth going cold
You said I can’t buy truth and I’m sold
You said that the lie is dead
Ugliness is dead, it’s gone love, it’s wrong, it’s dead

Dead, Dead, D is for Danger
Loving a stranger is easier
Then hating you, then loving myself

A deeply involved write, D is for dead D is for danger those are strong words and bring this entire write so much life making pictures come into my mind. I hope in time things work out and life is happy and full of all that is good not double d'd

Extremely powerful, you are gifted at making the read feel what you want them to feel.
I like how this poem is snappy and to the point, it gives it a real presence.

Take care,
Dom
