Looking at Life Through Tinted Lenses

Contributed by aloneinthememory on Monday, 25th June 2007 @ 02:40:33 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I've been looking at life through tinted lenses
Even the bluest of skies have seemed gray
The whitest clouds have seemed gloomy
Rain clouds seem more dreary
Life has seemed down.

The glass is gone now
Music surrounds me
Life is better
Things are clearer
Truths are told
Feelings revealed
Love had
But then come the bad...

The music can die
Life can become dreary
Truths can hurt
Feelings can lie
And hearts can break
Which do you want?

The lies or the real
One you live in hiding
In a fog of lies
Never knowing the truth.
Or would you rather live in the real
Where everything is true
Where the truth hurts
But you can see.

You want to know the truth
But can you handle it?

The last two lines are excellent. Lies may feel more comfortable at times, but also truth isn't supposed to be cute and fluffy; it's just simply the truth. Great poem!

I love this poem, although it seems quite sad.
But don't we all have a sad write in us once in a while? You have expressed yourself very eloquently, nice write here.
Warmly, Chrissy

Wow the truth could hurt but living a lie could just mean worse. It was so true. I love reading that.
