My dads flat

I always cried when my animals died
When my fish ran away with the spoon
The summer days I had were happy
But they ended far too soon
And now I’m here in my dads flat
With a keyboard and this tune
To say a farewell to those days of sun
And hole-heartly welcome the gloom
Heaven knows I’m happy now
So what the world throws at me
Can’t be half as bad as old time lost
But I guess in time well see.

Nice little poem!
You've just got to face what comes with a smile if you can, that way the summer will one day return!

Hey Joe89,
An insightful remembrance, this one. Nicely worded and constructed.
When my fish ran away with the spoon is my favourite -what a sad image, tinged with just the right amount of farce.
This poem will speak to a lot of people, I'm sure.
