Forgotten

Contributed by jt on Friday, 22nd June 2007 @ 08:14:31 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Forgotten thoughts arise once more
Forgotten fights. Forgotten wars
The cuts have healed, scars nearly gone
Forgotten what the hate had drawn
Flowing back through viens run dry
Forgotten what it meant to cry
Forgotten why I used to scream
I used to curse, I used to dream
Used to have these expectations
Had my days, my satisfactions
Thought time had changed the way I saw
But you knocked on memories door
And so your back now my old friend
To start the games up once again
But I'll say now the rules have changed
For you see I am not the same
You will find that you are wrong
I will not once more sing your song
For in this mind a glowing ember
And I can say that I remember.

Righteous.

Yes, the site still works and you still got the gift. I would have trimmed a few words for a tighter metre, and it doesn't hurt to spellcheck (misspelling is really distracting unless its meant to be part of the poem), but all in all, compelling and familiar sentiments.

good stuff,

Spike

ps: I won't vote, b/c I'll give you a 4 and someone might want to give you a 5.

Wow .. exceptional way to end this piece. You covered a lot
of emotions within this .. many I, myself, am akin to. Poets
and poetry are peculiar things ... it/they never seem to
be inspired by any one thing, but rather a
MULTITUDE of events/circumstances/passions ...

Yes. A well worded execution of such musings. Bravo!

(curious as to whether or not during those three
"unposting" years, you still kept writing ... )

flowing beautifully...this was a good read and strong...to learn from the past and not repeat that which is painful takes maturity and wisdom
