Graffiti

Contributed by Tot on Friday, 22nd June 2007 @ 03:19:55 AM in AEST
Topic: abstract

in the graffiti of the past
upon the bridges of my mind
into the depths of the ocean
a vacant description

into the moonlight beyond
approaching a simplistic time
toward the star lit sky
swallow the inscription

upwards the eyes of pale
into a happier demise
leaping into the unknown
cowering behind

showers of blistering tragedy
surround the past
upon the bridges of my mind
escape
an attempt would be senseless

devilishly you seek it
wishes in the well
in the graffiti of the past
there is a lighter hell

tonight I am but a dreamer
mystified by the absence
of time
a greater illusion
sits presently
in the gallows of what we most need to find

leap away into the water
as what we see passes by
like a freight train
so quickly-
time is but a sigh

penetrate the depths of it
swallow it completely
forgive me my fellow dreamers
I am but a mist upon my own dreams!

In the graffiti of my mind
I am but a traveler here
the past upon the bridges
lay burned to nothingness

The stench of it
though a horrid, hateful one
smiles at me
and calls me home

a beautiful write touched with hints of stone and sad laden memories.

A well written write, which leaves the reader, wanting, more. Saddness in the words that flowed, as if something was there, yet was not.
Thanks for sharing

Good grief Kandice! What a beautiful conceptual metaphor!
(wish I'd thought of that! lol)

wow! I have been meaning to mention how I adore your E.A.P.
quote, (as he is one of my utmost favourites and a completely
undying inspiration to me). I am finding this much like those
Poe pieces I so adore, though this, so obviously has a
more modern feel to it .. but there is a mystery, an ethereal
quality and even a darkness within that I could be entirely
consumed by. Exceptional wording .. DAMN girl! I was lost by
more than just one line here .. it was like drowning in an
ocean of the most infectious passion.

Excellent write at times leaning toward a type of hopelessness mood....and yet maybe just resigned to certain things that are, with no need to give much more thought to it.

It is such a sadness when we are without hope. All I can give to my universe today is faith that we can change things by changing thoughts.
A wonderful piece to ponder on and ask yourself some good inner questions. I love a piece that does this to me.

Oh Boy !!! The last sentiment there... The past calls me home, I love that. I love it !! I love it !!!

There are a whole slew of other fabulous lines in here too but I will be honest ... "the past calls me home" is gonna stick with me for a long while. I am not even quite sure why, I just know that I really like it.

Nazmythian ~
