roses red, roses blue,
fill my head with your perfume,
red tears, blue tears,
stems with thorns i grip
to say it is done is to say
shattered,
and by any other name,
just as damaged,
kill me here, now,
i beg
and yet,
to limp away from this!!
my fury, a woman's fury, hath
the chilled finish of a frozen hell
dare you speak?
i have questions for you, mother,
and, know between us,
there is not a word
i doubt the things you would
say would pull me closer anyway
i have questions for you, mother
and, in as much as a person can fathom
i have fury for you, mother
dry ice in my heart

Wow there is anger and rage in these few short lines. Tell her about what it is. before it eats and destroys what Mother and daugther were meant to be. God bless

By the time I got to the title line within the poem itself, it had become very much more than it seemed when I first saw it at the top of the page. The repetition of it in the last stanza, too, made it somehow more.
The whole of the piece is potent... heavy. The reader really can't overlook the fury that exists within it and it seemed that it needed to be that way. You've done well here... in a number of ways, I'd say.

For so long, I harbored such anger and contempt for my father. We never really talked about it. If we had been able to talk about it, my father wouldn't have been the kind of man I would have gotten angry at. I was equally angry and contemptuous of my mother. Words never offered themselves and so the angst remained...for a long time.
As was working through my own personal emotional dilemas; seeking to escape my childhood cage, I began to recognize my father and mother were fairly helpless creatures; victims of their parents' dysfunction; still struggling with the cast iron lock keeping them caged.
In my teen years I wrote this line: Given a hammer and told to sew... How unfair! How cruel to demand and then provide inappropriate tools. Both my parents had established patterns of behavior which turned my life into hamburger. It helped me when I understood, their parents had established patterns of behavior which turned them into hamburger. When I realized we were all hamburgers through no fault of our own, our relationships improved and I started looking for anwers in other places.
I can strongly empathize with your poem. It certainly struck a chord; brought back a whole symphony of feelings.
...ice cold fire!
blessings,
