A friendly smile
A warm embrace
A kindly heart
A pleasant face
All those things I used to treasure
Plus a heart to big to measure
A strong grip
A gentleman’s arm
A joker of jokes
A lover’s charm
The most gentle person I ever knew
How I regret not saying ‘I love you’
A cliché I know but life is short
Let harsh words and frowns be a last resort
Fate is always bitter sweet
Try to be kind to all those you meet
Make the best of the hand your dealt
Every gesture meaningful and heartfelt
Live for today! Be everyone’s best friend.
For our future is uncertain, and is sometimes
quick to end.

typically, i hate rhyme, but this doesn't feel forced at all. good flow, and the human element really rings true. a beautiful piece. |
