Mother of Mine

Topic: AngryPoetry

Surrounded by ruins
you brought this on yourself
you've clawed your way back
back inside a personal hell
one that you've built
by memory alone
where you throw out your hate
and do nothing but scorn

This house is not a home
just a place where I reside
I find no joy here
days bring me no light

Sixteen years..
and I've taken care of you
Sixteen years...
and I live with what you've put me through
I swear I'm not crazy
I just hate to see your face
I swear I not crazy...
I just despise this place

The candles on the cake
the one I'll never get...
your birthday wishes were made clear
I owe you no respect
you've only brought me fear

You thrive upon your children's faults
though yours have been much worse
Pity is all you want
with fake sickness and whines
Pity, you'll never get
I haven't got the time
just like you never had the time
to note that I exist
and how my sister taught me everything
because I was too much for you

If you asked me one person
that I'd choseto hate
no second thoughts
it'd be you
all the times I was told to go away
you'll never know how much I wanted to..

you ask me if I love you
who can love a heart that doesn't feel?
I count the days
until I can finally leave

not too much longer
and then I'll be gone
I'll never come back
this will all be done
and I won't have to stand another attack

Good gracious Stephanie .. this was, in a word, AMAZING! I love
your bravery. Dear girl, I know these emotions, (God, I know
them W E L L !!) and ... I mostly wish I did not. Especially when I see
someone else experiencing similar feelings ... trapped and
paralyzed by hereditary and traditional responsibilties ..

I am lost for words ... the write was truly exceptional, seeing
as how it bleeds emotion in the most personal way ...
I am painfully impressed by so much in this, SO much.

~Breezy
(I would PM you, but not sure if you can read those as so
many are having difficulties ...)

When I read the title,I was expecting something very different.I never read the topic.
A cathartic outpouring and ultimately very, very sad.
