I’ve finished the sculpture
It stands six feet tall
A work of art mum said
I don’t think so at all
My ‘arty flare’ has vanished
Blown out by the winds of change
And my hopes for a bright new day to come
Have swiftly flown away
So much for all my hopes and dreams
I don’t care anymore
There’s nothing that’s keeping me here
So why do I still stay?
I’m not bound by law!
Lack of courage is my biggest fault
As I pick up the sculpting knife
I know ill feel a slight touch of pain
But not enough to end my life!
So here I sit
Knowing that one day
My courage will not falter
And my life will ebb away.
