Cocoon lay shattered
On forest floor
Pieces of yesterday
Nothing more
Butterfly resting
On tall tree leaf
Recovering
Filled with relief
Off to the moon
Butterfly swoops
No limits now
No backward loops
Flitting amongst stars
Butterfly shines bright
As she flies into
The endless night
Ever forward
Butterfly dreams
No restraints
Nothing as it seems
Butterfly resting
On leaf of tree
Happy just to let
Her spirit run free

wow Shari. This is beautiful. I adore the metamorphosis of the
caterpillar/butterfly and you've created a feeling of being light
and free wafting through my soul.
How wonderful!

Different than most of the poetry
I read on here. That's okay though
because I love different. It keeps
things fresh and interesting as does
this poem. Nice work. Very light and
makes one smile. Truly , Doug |

Well done. I haven't seen your work in some time. It is good to see you have not skipped a beat. Quite a wonderful job as always. I loved your pleasant words on the butterfly, something with beauty I feel many of us take for granted.
BRAVO!

Beautiful write Shari. I simply love butterflies. Your title of "Free" was so fitting here. Thanks for sharing.
