And Yet

Contributed by jerseysue on Saturday, 16th June 2007 @ 07:31:11 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The hand of cards I have been given
Were not the best, my lifes been driven
By constant grief and emotional fear
But also love and times of cheer

I am not bitter, I do not doubt
The day those cards were handed out
They decreed I am who I am
I strive to achieve, whatever I can

I feel no fear, I stride ahead
To pastures new that lie ahead
I can conquer each rise and fall
I will always stand proud and tall

When loneliness it brings me down
From me you will find no sign of frown
I start to write all the things I've achieved
And soon I feel better, I will succeed

When petty quarrels raise their head
I will soon put them to bed
I am not ashamed to apologise
My true feelings cannot hate or despise

And yet this life that I was given
Is seen by some to be sadness driven
You are wrong , its driven by me
And what you get,is what you see

Excellent Sue! I found this to be quite amazing in the sense that you are proclaiming who you are inside and out. You stand tall, proud, and yet modest in your words here. And words were chosen perfectly not too wordy and yet not at all simple. The flow was excellent and the sentiment is strong! Completely and proudly a wonderful poem!

BRAVO!

Wonderful poem, at times inspirational and at times humble. You present us with everything you are proudly and gracefully, and the way you have learned to accept life's knocks as well as its triumphs is admirable.
An uplifting and well crafted piece.

Take care,
Dom

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

*applauds*

Sue ... you positively get what you see, for sure! And what I see,
is an caring, loving, determinded, intelligent, AMAZING woman!
One who will NOT let life defeat her, as is evident by this
magnificent piece. Yes. You have written a testament to all
about the realness of life and digging in with both hands
regardless of any set-backs. A "never-say-die" kind of attitude.

Exceptional piece, my friend. And a damn fine inspiring one
at that! Be proud of this one Sue. It's wonderful!
