pieces of me
scattered and misplaced
dreaming
eyes wide open
see all there is to see
shallow is the wicked heart
strained is the fantasy
bellowing into the blue
the sacred place is dying
knarled and haunting
forgetting the soul
pieces of me
what a dream
it cannot be
designed by perfection
and everything true
we are not the intention
eyes wide open
unable blink just one
as pieces of me are stolen
and used for another purpose

Oh my Kandice .. this is wonderful, WONDERFUL poetry!!
There is a definite struggle within each of us that pull our right of way. Temptation and the
lure of apathy keep us from being who we were all meant to be. GOD! I so relate to this!
Especially that second stanza. HOLY HECK! It's as if you were speaking through my soul;
extracting every fear, dream, fantasy and wish I've ever exacted.
This whole piece is so bloody briliant! And I hate to emphasize any one word, line or stanza
but damn! That second last one .. it could be mankind's mantra. I'm sure this has much more
deep personal meaning, but the message is unbelievably powerful! WOW! This piece has
me all sortsa excited! (Could you tell?? )
Excellent, EXCELLENT post, dear poet. Absolutely!!
beyond humbled!
