Sunny Dread

Contributed by Tot on Tuesday, 12th June 2007 @ 11:31:02 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

hello, dear sky
so light and so blue
waking me to the beauty
from which I hide

Sp passively sweet
yet pushy and vain
seeping through my window
like a cold night's rain

let me revel in my darkness
one more bleak moment
for it is in the pitch
that I am my happiest

seeming so sad
yet quietly happy
to live in my peace
and perpetuate the dread

your puffy white clouds
roll on by
and the covers do not blanket
the morning sounds

I must be among the living
tho' a dream
so sweet,
yes, I was having

Bring me my moon!
on a starry black night
with the wind so howling
this- is what's right

Trees bowing over
aching in the gusts
For this,
Yes, this is my lust

Give me my foggy nights
and the whispers of the eve
yes, this
this is what I need

Morning dew
You are not what I long for
No, the misty muggy nights
that is where I live

When all is so silent
yet the sounds of my mind
make such a wonderful horror
yes, this
this is my time

Oh, hello dear morning
please leave me be
I will close my eyes
until you leave!

Oh wow, Kandice! EXCEPTIONAL writing here. So much emotion
and longing .. and passion! The night is insanely seducing, is
it not? Impossibly perfect imagery floats inside your lines ...

there is something evil in the early morning rays that steal away
the mystery and beauty of the night. I LOVE how you wrote this.
Like being torn away from a lover. There is a need that is
undeniable in here. Excellent post, poet!

Fantastic. The night has the mystically wonderful feel to it. Much magic in the dark. I really enjoyed this read and can totally relate.
Peace,
Laura

A wonderful work Tottles. I enjoyed this immensely. From the amazing opening stanza to the very end. Such a power and strength yet there is a sweet and beautiful sadness within. I find it admirable that you long so for the night, but please allow yourself to be taken by the morning as well. For all things hide their beauty even those things that seem to hinder what we really long to.

BRAVO!
