Via Antigua by: Patrick Foti
Dilated eyes weigh pixelating rollercoasters
The carnival light high enlightens our exposure
Is this surreal?
Only he can feel.
God made man, man made town
This is freedom
Mechanically bound
Robotic insurgents weary at sundown
God made man, man mad town
This is freedom
Mechanically bound
Arranging thoughts and patterns too great to disguise
The mind: a lantern projecting at an impractical size
Holstering, "The whole is more than a sum of its parts"
So we wait till after dark, the soul of our hearts
A hung away, love for the biased holist view
Aristotle, Charlemagne, Holst, the planets; orbiting you
From Mars to Neptune, the notes rang through
Mi, fa, mi; love for the biased holist view
Is this surreal?
Only he can feel.
God made man, man made sound
This is freedom
Living underground
Progressive composers waiting for sundown
God made man, man made sound
This is freedom
Living underground
(Lit up) On the equator we are imploding
(Set up) A man takes eight steps before exploding
And tip-toeing across high-wired lines we’re stalling
An acrobat; misplaced by his mind, border waltzing
Fragments from arguements too great to contain
Frustrating armaments meaningless, deranged
Begging for a sign from her plutonic plates
The earth patiently waits for her satellites to quake
A hung away, love for the biased holist view
Aristotle, Charlemagne, Holst, the planets; orbiting you
From Mars to Neptune, the notes rang through
Mi, fa, mi; love for the biased holist view
Mi, fa, mi; love for the biased holist view
Mi, fa, mi; love for the biased holist view

Drugs give you a new perspective of life, and when your on them who knows what you'll discover.
This poem infuses the history of people who were frequently frowned upon for their views, told they were crazy, with the chaotic mix of drugs. Everything makes sense when life is altered with a substance, they say your crazy but your just seeing life in new eyes as the philosophers did.
I really enjoyed this poem, especially the connection made between God, man and man made disasters.
At least this is what i understood from it, maybe I'm wrong, but either way i found it to be an interesting and amazing piece of writing. |

Hmmm This is a damn good write. "Bugged out on drugs". Depending on the drug, this can be a good thing. Drugs can enlighten the hell out of things, folks been "tripping" since the beginning of time. To be able to get in tune with the harmonic flow of Earth rhythms is a wonder to achieve. This write man, was a wonder to read. It came out as a song in my head. Thanks for sharing.
Peace,
Laura |
