I see my life flash before my eyes
Up in the bloody skies
I stand here in this foreign land
Ankle deep in sand
Wishing for a better place
Far from danger’s face
I don’t want to die here
Where they know not my name
But fear to bring my family shame
I’ll stay another day
But please for me pray
Anger I do lack
And I carry my fears like a pack
But I’ll be home soon
Maybe sometime around noon
So wait for me there
And pull me up a chair
I’ll be home soon
