My Life’s Last Phase.

Murky last phase of my
flickering life,
lay edgily numbering
the speeding countdown.
View of a faint silhouette of sullen
kith and kin ‘nd my woman whimpering beside;
a sheer joy to see my folks get-together
beneath one roof, bliss blended with the pain of death.
Like the creeping fast shadow
of dusk - age sneaks steadily
like a brutal foe across the line
into the mortal self.
Death; a unanimous truth
like an ocean tide that stops nor waits
but prevails in swallowing the shore,
as I tussled for a gulp of air.
Saw that lightning bright flash - before time
ceased to exist - letting soul to exit.

Franco, my friend, you have written a masterful piece here.
Wow. A widely thought about and mysterious subject, that you
have done justice to.
I just adore that last line ... and I especially loved ..
"bliss blended with the pain of death"
