I am not a poet,
I only write.
Wrestling restless thoughts.
Keeping myself awake
throughout the lonely night.
I am not an artist
I just paint.
Animating restrained humanity,
with every painstaking stroke
of this horse’s mane I hold.
Creative control
over the soul’s
only goal.
Victory over death!
Its stronghold over the remaining glory it has left,
an impression to be remembered,
cherished memories of gold
embedded in every bold stroke.
Death beheaded upon my bloodstained canvas.
If bloodshed
could get
you to heaven,
than I would be a saint.
I am not a republican or a democrat,
debating over legislation,
the lesser of two evils
this or that.
I am not a revolutionist or an evolutionist.
I am not an existentialist, a humanitarian.
Environmentalist, or vegetarian.
I am not a pragmatist,
or an animal rights activist.
I am not a Good Samaritan,
or a utilitarian.
I am not a conservationist,
or a conversationalist.
I am not an atheist,
or a Satanist.
I am not a Buddhist, a Jew,
Muslim or Hindu, or Christian,
or any of the other self righteous religions,
I see them all as equal paths to wisdom.
God grants the minds eye its vision.
I am not you,
or him
or he
or she
or we,
I am not even me.
I just Am!
And that’s all I need to be.
