Is it still true?

Contributed by eloise on Friday, 28th February 2003 @ 07:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I remember when i was a child
too naive to care
so long as someone was listening
it didnt matter who was there
i remember playing on the jungle gym
i fell and grazed my knee
it didnt matter who lifted me up
so long as someone helped me
i remember screaming in terror
at stupid everyday fears
it didnt matter who did it
so long as someone wiped away the tears
i remember when you pushed me away
and told me i was bad
and i just stood there dumbstruck
too naive to feel sad
i remember never feeling
a loving mothers touch
as i get older i realise
you never loved me very much
i remember now like always
when you laugh right in my face
that everyone would be happier
if i was in a different place
i remember the suicidal feelings
that are locked up inside
when i keep all my secrets
and tell you all my lies
i remember when you said you hated me
Mum, is it still true?
i pretend not to care, like it doesnt hurt,
is it the same for you?
i guess itll always be like this
better when it ends
i wish i never had to see you again
you were never my friend
maybe its just me
and what you say is really true
coz i dont know why you hate me so much
but its made me hate you too

Wow, Eloise...I can't begin to imagine the pain you must have suffered... This was really well written... Hope the hate isn't still there,
Hugs
