Modern 'Civilization,'
A concert of contradictions...
An ensemble of clashing visions,
A melody of unachievable aspirations,
A Sad Requiem for the forgotten victims,
And a Glorious hymn to remember the butchers,
For they were the conductors, who played very well indeed,
Playing catchy tunes of nation and delusion,
They play still in false harmony an Elegy to heroic death,
Now they compose an orchestra of thieves, dressed in pin stripe,
The sheets of their music, wickedly drawn up, played to perfection,
Their notes; plucked from the poor,
As they wave the baton, singling out those for the pit,
The beating drums of their iron hearts play, all rusted red with the tears of the fallen.
A sweet symphony begins beneath them,
Hear the chants of change.

Love, love the metaphorical use of the music. Well written.
Peace, Laura |
