1. Chinatown
Every gutter thick with rainbows,
Halibut scales, Triads in versace threads
skip fresh off the snake into Jaguars,
creme' cuaco at lady luck's
where the hook -hung ducks
sway alongside sugared plums
and salted minnows in sanscrit-
scrawled, Butchershop windows.
2. Witch sonics
Through thicket path cut from foxpaw
and sow-trotter this coarse-chinned hag saunters
through black air, fogged, phantomas and blued to the armor of beetles
by fat moon eclesiastical, though as wing-beat of Owl
above woeing rabbit no sod-layed heel divulges presence.
With one crooked black-taloned finger tip pricked
Through the dark yew's adder -hiss incantation of viper gossip doth sigh,
Puritans oil torches for gathered faggets no flame can ever lick
and in peasant heart the ringsaw- toothed flatworm doth writhe,
one hundred Fae die, tenscore bright stars
snuff out of the sky.

Hmmmm I am curious as to why you put these two pieces together. Your metaphors make things so damn visual for me. Chinatown I could see so plainly. Everything you describe, so palpable.
With "Witch sonics" the write felt so different, still a metaphorical wonder, but with such a haunting feel. I could almost see her peering out through darkened bushes. Hmmm I do see similarities when I read them again and you have painted them well on your canvas, my brother. Always left in awe after one of your writes....
Much peace and love,
Laura |
