Milady Macabre

Contributed by true on Wednesday, 6th June 2007 @ 08:14:49 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I see a figure in the shadows
Twilight blends to darkness deep
Her voice, it whispers, dusky softness
And causes my poor heart to leap

Her eyes, hot coals of dark desire
Burn my soul ‘til it’s all alight
My love, my heart, my queen of darkness
She is the goddess of the night

She dances round me, soft and graceful
She twirls and whirls and twists and bends
She is the air, from which I breathe,
The spirit of the midnight wind

Her lips, sweet poison that kills me gently
Burning slowly in my vein
And yet this poison gives new life
As my blood falls like rain

“Dark angel that fell from heavens light
You would pull me into your descent
And so I cast away my halo
For in your shadow I’m content

I know the darkness in your soul
But it completes me and makes me whole”

I LOVE the title which is what drew me to this. And now that I read your piece I see words most worthy of that amazing title. A very poetically crafted work. Especially the final FULL stanza. I believe you ended this wonderfully and cast a wonderful atmosphere of dark beauty and imagery.

GREAT JOB!

BRAVO MY FRIEND!

You have captured me with this poem.
Every stanza moved me. You have never
ceased to amaze me and make me smile.
You have entered my realm of dark things
and left a mark as deep as any I've ever
managed. I'm still smiling. lol That was
really great writing. I think you've given me
an idea for my next poem as well. lol
Truly , me --- Awesome. lol
