The Ocean Ahead

I crossed a lake to get here,
But when I turned round the ground was dry.
I climbed a mountain before the lake,
But looking back, the earth was flat.
Before that I trekked through desert,
Yet on passing out the sand was wet.
Worst, I walked naked through a storm,
But then the air was still and clothes were on my back.
I see the wild ocean stretching ahead of me,
Only this time I know I will not drown.

Oh dear poet, what a great inspirational write!! (For surely
the message and lines are dripping with inspiration!!)
This made me think of how life seems so treacherous when
we are going "through" it, but upon re-examination, after
the fact, we find strength we never knew we had. I LOVE that!
Excellent write, my friend. Exceptionally insightful and
advantageous to all who read.

A great and very wise write. We do learn from everything we have already gone through.
Older and wiser is a truth none can dispute. Great job. |

Dom, you have quickly become one of my favourite poets on this site. And this....this is why. You have such a wonderful way with the mixture of emtional, inspiration, and words. And yes surviving leaves us the knowledge that we can tread rocky seas again. Thus making this totally inspirational as Roxanne said. I completely adore this. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait for more.
BRAVO! BRAVO!

HOLY WOW! For myself it was a Sufi parable that taught me to leave the boat once I'd crossed the lake & faced the mountain...
Right on, write on!
I really, really dug this!

Yes, Dom, the obstacles are not so formidable once you are beyond them, and sometimes they are made big by our fears and misconceptions (others are just bloody big!)
