Forever Lost

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Tuesday, 5th June 2007 @ 08:01:31 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

In the coolness of the night
I do think of you
and
Who you are

You see I thought
I knew you so well
Who you were
and what you were

I found out
I don't know you at all
Who are you?

Your smile has never changed
The tender touch
you know all too well
and never forgot it
not once during this long cold winter
you created

I had a false sense of comfort
laying on a bed full of lies
Eyes of blue beckon to me
Within them burns a hell

You must dig down deep
with in yourself, my love
I cannot bear this torturous journey
much longer and alone I do feel

You are there
I smell you
But you are so far away from me, now
So many miles away

Can we find one another again
Paths get so jumbled along the way
Things get twisted and tangled
Some of us are simply....forever lost

Laura,

A sad refrain on a love lost. It reminds me of a poem I wrote months ago, called "Mourning Tne Dream." The loss was not real because the person was never real; and so she was grieving what could have been, not what was ....

So a very sad but insightful poem of trying to love someone who was never available.

Well done my friend,

Will

PS I want to get back to you on your poem about Poison....

oh my dear sis! Just when I think you've deeply wounded my heart
with a write, you go and outdo the pain of that with even more heart-gripping
words.

The picture you placed at the beginning and the words that follow,
all got me to thinking ... and reminded me of a line from a John
Mayer song ...

"she's like a maze, where all of the walls all continually change . . ."

most people are like that, methinks. No matter how much we
think we know someone, (for however long), they can still surprise
us. Sometimes the surprise is delightful, and sometimes not. But I
believe it proves that through it all, lifes battles, the ups and downs,
we continue to learn and grow and become better people. Especially
with the help of beautiful souls like yours.

I know your life is trying ... I know there is a battle still raging, but
I also know that you are one of the smartest, strongest and most loving
souls I've met. Continue to be brave, sis. You are not alone.

Exceptional piece, hun. Truly remarkable.

~MG
(sending hugs and anything else I can that might help my sis)

Simply well written. You poured out your thoughts and questions and it held all of this pain and sadness and wonder in each word. You did a great job expressing how you felt. I give you many hugs and hopes that you can find the path that will led you both back into what you once had. This was good. Well done.

Take care
Tons & millions of hugs..
Christina

The emptiness of love lost has been the creator of great writing. The proof lies before us. Well done.
