My inclinations tell me, sir, this checker-patterned life's about to change,
Lately, you've been rippling through the puddles of my water-logged brain,
& when I strum my vocal chords to speak to you it feels a little strange.
I've worn so many masks; you see, with you those facades aren't me,
There are no doubts, there are no worries, there are no falsities,
The face I wear is made of 100% genuinity.
I've listened to this song on repeat for 7 hours now,
& for the first time in a while, I dreamt the whole night through somehow,
It's crazy how this weightless feeling's lifting my feet off the ground.
You're more than just a muse, you are amazing & I am frightened,
Your absence leaves me wondering and my fears become heightened,
& while I don't know where you've been, I sure am glad that you've dropped in.
