Burning Bridges, Building Walls

The tables have turned,
and the stars, they shake.
Above the bridges we've burned,
and the bridges we've made.
And in time all the skeletons,
will turn into dust.
There will be no more memories,
no memories of us.
When life was more simple,
in a world of our own.
Where the skies glowed like caramel,
and the clouds stood like stone.
Doubts shadowed behind us,
we saw only our path.
Never thought twice about it,
never did the math.
Sooner or later,
the curtain did fall.
And this act it means nothing,
no, nothing at all.
The tables have turned,
and my heart, it breaks.
Had I known what I've learned,
had I not made mistakes...
