Orchids for the Beast

Contributed by doug on Tuesday, 29th May 2007 @ 06:40:25 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Alas I'm bleeding once again.
Dazed with pain and ecstasy.
Dusk hath found us here together ;
found me cradled in her arms.

The curtains flow like waterfalls
of blood upon the ivory stairs.
Twilight fades through giant panes.
Shadow creeps into her lair.

Awake my love , the night has come
and for the ancient dark I thirst ;
hungry for eternal stars ,
the earthen smell of blood and dirt.

So I rise at her command.
Yes my love , I live to serve.
She kisses me so gently then ,
I knew that I belonged to her.

We walked along the garden path.
I , unto my mistress clung.
Stars of summer falling , burning.
Stars of summer we are one.

I too have fallen now ;
burning in her warm embrace.
She is Earth and I am Star ;
fell from God to see her face.

Let us walk through ancient castles
summer vineyards , winter trees.
I , reborn from Mother Earth
shall walk with her eternally.

'Pon forever's haunted dusk
I will turn and I will seek
pretty victims for my love
like picking orchids for the beast.

Oh my HECK!! doug!!! was so extraordinarily gripping but that last
stanza! holy WOW!!! I was completely blown away! Your talent for
this type of write is exceptional! There is a darkness, but it is
so damn sensual and enrapturous that the reader is beautifully
and pleasantly oblivious to it. Wonderful work here, doug. Truly
wonderful work!!

This is why you are my favorite poet on this site, your writings always havethat dark sensuality abotu it. There is always a story behind your work that leaves me wanting more. Your an addiction, and I'm glad to see your newest work of art.

Your work always calls to me... something black and decaying inside, that dances to the melody of your words... Enrapturous, indeed. One cannot help but succumb, willingly or not, to the beautiful disaster, the loving arms of Death...

An unforgettable journey through the mind and soul of the Immortal. You never fail to beguile and bewilder, my friend. Your talent is inestimable, and I am forever grateful to be a part of the ever-growing audience. Many apologies for the terribly belated comment and thanks. Life has me tangled in her many skirts, *sigh*. Thank you for taking me away, even for a moment.

Exquisite penmanship, once again. Is it ever anything but? Love and peace.

Always,

~Fleur

I love it. You have the enchantment to carry me right over to the dark side. Then again I can't be just another orchid.
Fantastic write Doug.
