My Beliefs – Today
I may not ‘have’ Religion
But I do have many beliefs
Not many of them will be proven
Not all of them make sense
I believe global warming is a fallacy
And that if you rarely eat food native to your environment-
You will get ill.
Cancer in Asians living in England an obvious result of wrong diet
For the environment –
Is my belief
But I have no proof
I believe the media to be public enemy number one,
While it is run by
Pessimistic, sanctimonious, irresponsible, egomaniacal, materialistic
***** stirrers
I believe that all hairdressers where abducted by aliens in 1972
And where not returned until 1995
If not abducted, then possessed
This is a belief I may be shaken on.
I believe the only war today is the one between advocates of
Change and progress
And those who wish to stay over two millennia in the past
The desire to prove you are right
Is not the same has having a belief
A true belief requires no proof
My beliefs are my own
You can share them if you like
But you can have your own
That’s fine
And my mind is open to yours
I believe the Earth it has a lifetime
And one day will be dust
And we should enjoy our planet while it is here
In a few hundred millennia it will be gone
Then it won’t matter who owns Israel or Ireland or the Turin Shroud
I believe children should be taught to play before numbers and letters
I believe we should take 90% of the tests away
I believe in marking a child on attitude to the task rather than attainment
I believe political correctness is killing ‘community’
I believe that some people. Sometimes, need, deserve, require
A punch in the face
I believe mach3 replacement blades to be horrendously overpriced
I believe that no smoking signs were enough
Making it a ‘crime’ was unnecessary
Some of my beliefs are whimsy
I believe I make the best chocolate cake in the world –
But I haven’t tried everyone else’s
I believe everyone should start their day with a mug of hot water –
Good for your system!
I believe in many old adages
‘A bit of dirt does you good’
‘Too many cooks spoil the broth’
‘A poke in the eye – sometimes causes offence’
I believe people can change
But fundamental characteristics will always emerge
Pessimism, greed and envy don’t let go very easily
Some beliefs are deeply held
‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’
A life without pain, is a life unlived
A life without pain must be a life without love
For it is when you feel their pain or they cause you pain
That you know for sure, how much you love them
I also believe pain to be more addictive than pleasure
I believe religion to be a manmade invention – like the drug thalidomide
Wonderful for its purpose
But erratic in its effect on the individual
And horrendously damaging when used incorrectly
I believe it to be highly probable that I am the perfect woman for
Johnny Depp – I should be his muse – or perhaps Keanu Reeves
I believe that an unexpected personal letter can be the nicest of surprises
I believe a hug can be the greatest gift
And I believe I have ranted enough –
For now.
