So what of tonight?
What hidden thoughts
will die away if left unshared?
What of it all even matters?
Opinions won’t end starvation,
or AIDS, or war or hate.
Sometimes it seems it’s best for us all
to not intervene.
So why be political only to rescind,
To take a stand I was born
to back down from hours later?
Lying on my side
in my one-blanket bed,
on my caseless pillow,
holding my head up to ward off sleep,
I walk through my mind,
through the thoughts of the day,
benign, and wasteful,
friendship, love, The White Stripes,
hoping to strike a chord
in the well of profundity.
The more words we say,
we type, we post,
the more we fill the litternet
with blogs and drivel,
whine and cheese,
the god-forsaken
and cries for righteousness,
the more we forget
how truly alone we are,
how voiceless,
how, in an ocean of opinions and prayers,
even the boldest sandcastles
fall quickly in the tide.

from What hidden thoughts will die away if left unshared? to your strong ending that shows life is vulnerable even for the best, alas, sadly for those who have opinionated themselves so highly it is a longgg way down from that pedestal theyve placed themselves upon; this is a most insightful reflective write, from a poet who is one of quality, whom i highly respect,
love n' hugs nessa
