Heaven and Earth

Contributed by true on Friday, 25th May 2007 @ 08:34:29 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The stars in the heavens
shine down in all their beauty
whispering to us of all they've seen
they speak of great rises
and greater falls
they speak of beauty
beauty that comes in the first flower of spring
and quiet, misty mornings
They whisper of God
in all things beautiful
how He shines in the sun
and dances on the wind
how He reflects starlight in the eyes of lovers
and wraps the world in the cocoon of his love
oh how the stars burn
in envy of the love they shall never know
in the coldness of their dark isolation
for it's a love reserved for Earth alone

I get a feeling from this poem like one
gets when they look up at the stars and
see how huge space is but at the same
time having that feeling of being connected
to it all somehow. It feels kind of like everything is all good and you feel more alive somehow. I don't know how to describe it but I really love that feeling. I've spent countless hours trying to capture it in a poem but to no avail. You , however , have it here and I loved it. Truly , Doug
