POODLE SKIRTS AND HOT PANTS
THATS WHAT MOM TALKS ABOUT
MALT SHOPS AND FIVE AND DIME
STORES WERE ON HER DAILY ROUTE
SCHOOL DANCES AND DRIVE-INS
SHE HAS A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES
I LOVE TO SET AND LISTEN TO HER
TALK ABOUT THESE
OLD CARS AND FRIST DATES
HER FACE IS ALL A GLOW
AS SHE TALKS ABOUT HER
DAYS FROM SO LONG AGO
SOME TIMES I SET AND DAY DREAM
ABOUT MOM AND DAD AND I
CAN REALLY SEE ALL THE FUN
THAT THEY HAD
SHARING A MALT SHAKE OR
EVEN AT A SCHOOL DANCE
THEY SEEM TO HAVE SO MUCH
LOVE WHAT HAPPEN TO ALL
THAT
I GUESS THEY GREW APART
FOR THIS I JUST DONT KNOW
BUT NO MATTER WHAT I STILL
LOVE THEM SO
EVEN THOUGH THEIR NOT TOGETHER
THEY BOTH HAVE DIFFRENT LIFES
THEY ARE STILL GOOD FRIENDS
AND FOR THIS I AM THANKFUL
