Her Only Escape

Contributed by aloneinthememory on Thursday, 24th May 2007 @ 09:31:37 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

A girl sits alone in the bandroom everyday
Practicing her clarinet, getting away.
She plays till her fingers ache
Never stopping for a breathe
Never stopping from the fear she will break
Playing's her only escape.

She finishes a sad song that would break your heart
Surpressing her tears from the very start
Her friends all wonder why she plays
Why this is the way she spends her days.
Wondering why she's so obsessed
She's already the best
But what she wont say, is that when she plays

Shes free

a very creative approach to wanting to become the best at something.. but it also conveys the messege of wanting to escape things around.. this is a powerful piece .. good job

Good write about your friend. Finding her music to escape in is much better than other things she could be doing. She sounds like a dedicated, but lonely young woman. Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Laura
