You are,
The wind,
I am,
The sapling,
That lets the gale blow it,
‘Cause its better.
But if you insist,
I will break.
You are the sea,
And I am the swimmer,
That lets the current push him,
‘Cause its better.
But if you insist,
I will drown.
Don’t
Ask me to change who I am.
Don’t
Ask me to change what I do.
Cause I like who I am,
Cause I like what I do;
It’s who I am.
If you ask me to change,
It won’t be me no more;
It’d be an empty shell,
A shadow of the one I am,
A fake,
A mask,
Smiling,
Cause that’s what makes you happy.
You say I should change,
Cause my traits are too sensitive:
“End up hurting myself”,
But this is the way I am,
I can’t change that,
The whole Me.
All you’re asking me to do,
Is to hide my hurt, my pain, my sorrow, my fear, my anger.
You say I should be stronger,
That I shouldn’t care so much about others,
What they do and what they say.
I know,
I know I’m too weak,
And it hurts,
It hurts bad,
But I can’t help it,
And I can’t change myself,
So stop telling me to be someone else,
Stop telling me to deny myself,
Cause that’s not who I am.
I am not Ms. Perfect,
Ms Invincible,
Stop trying to make me one.
To you it seems like the perfect solution,
But sorry,
It just,
Ain’t me,
And I won’t,
Erase that Me.
