Kiss
smoke fills the air,
my heart
my lungs
feeling like a rush
thick black paste
at the end of a cigarette
just enough to end a night
long have i waited
forever for a fair hand
heart
lungs
feeling like a thief
in the moonless night
in a bayside tavern
an opportunist is born
blinded by birth
reared by feral children
heart and lungs
of a warrior
channeling heaven’s darker side
filtered through mountains
bled to sobriety
clawing unto conception
man becomes woman
stupid and soft
in the heart of spring,
tiny lungs gather from filth
paragon weakness
sheltered and perfect
invoking envy
and conjuring death
righteous and crippled
wild and tamed
curious heart
ignorant lungs
slowly grow strong
endlessly cruel
brilliantly happy,
free, until
Kiss
