Utopia

Contributed by artjunkiekyle on Sunday, 20th May 2007 @ 02:16:37 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

What you need to do, is not what you want.
What you want to do, is not what you need.
Your moral obligation is overshadowing your senses.
Your moral compass is misleading you.
You seek comfort in pain.
You find bliss in losers.

The ones that are no good.
The ones with hair like fire.
The ones with moons for eyes.
The ones with breath equal to that of the nightclub cashews.

Your stuck, and I understand.
Teetering on the edge of reason and insanity.
You never asked for this, but you got it.
You got it like the flowers get the monarchs.

You want, you NEED, that escape.
That unattainable Utopia.

But that loser.
That loser holds you back.
That loser hand, the one that wants to be your jackpot- your lottery.

Just leave it all, float to the cloud in the whistful sky.
Just glide on your currents of wishful thinking and your flowery dreams.

Don't let him be your anchor.
That thing that holds your balloon.

Cut the strings.
Cut them and float to your Utopia.

i love this, kyle...so beautifully written...but sometimes easier said than done...ya know?? alot of times we wrap ourselves in delusion because we don't want to see what is really there...it might be too frightening...but hopefully the strings are eventually cut and we do get to float to utopia...you're super fantastic...love ya!
