Oleander Sky

Topic: SadPoetry

Years ago,
I leaned into his car, catching his eyes
and I never knew
that two years later,
I'd be sleeping in his arms

This seven month romance
enough time to fade the scars
clot the wounds, heal the bruises
He walked away from me
and I bled there until he came back
Naked and beaten
Who was I without him?

He made me out of lust
On a chilly October night
His sheets, his bed
My escape from the walls
The ones I fell against
The damage in my eyes.

The police station
held me for hours
and I pushed them away
He was my savior,
They would not take him

Ebony eyes and charcoal hair
Our sweat and release
mixed together
potent and unique.
The fire of my desires,
Tasting you tasting me
Endless

I quiver and shake
Something dead in the air
I cling to him
Sanity? I ask,
He looks around wild,
eyes darting like flames,
licking the wind.

My lover is breaking,
and I'm helpless to help him...

Painful write you touched each emotion with the flow and wording.
