Grave of the Suicide

Messages to you, written on the wall
Forgotten yesterdays, conquests much to tall.
Oceans of a silent calm that turn to waves of death.
Uttered mindless thoughts of woe a hesitating breath.
What have I said? What have I done? What's missed along the way?
A torn and shattered simple man, a heart no one can weigh.
The value of a moment, as life goes passing by.
Wasted thoughts of human souls now hopeless, here they lie.

Mental state of a depressed man is captured well in this poem.

Wow ND!!! First, that picture is stunning and PERFECT for your words.

Second, wow again! So much said with so few words. You have
really captured the defeatist's thoughts as he tries to gain some
kind of perspective on this crazy and harried thing called life.

Exceptional writing, my friend. And wow, the imagery is fantastic!!

This is a well written poem, however I think it's a little unfair to be so critical of those who have taken their own life. Depression is a disease, it's not fair to say suicide is the result of being stuck in "a moment". For some, a "moment" may be their entire life. I do however respect the poetry you choose to write...to each his own.

That last line was very final, as is suicide. Sometimes days get hard....but there is always the wonderment of ..."what will the next day bring?" I've lost a couple of family members and a few friends to suicide, it is a tragic ending. Thanks for sharing.
Peace,
Laura

Suicide is a terriblle tragic end my sister in laws sister commited suicide at 18 and she was pregnant so two lives died that day, I think your mind must be unbalanced at the time as in a normal state of mind you would never consider it.. Some people say its a cowards way out, its not you have to be brave to kill your self the picture is beautiful.. your poetry is so beautiful to xxx
