We should be laughing, now we weep,
Seeds were planted, never reaped.
You're 21, and now you've passed,
A fond farewell, a flag half-mast.
'Twas a quick and sudden death,
No one saw your final breath,
Child buried, parents cry,
Circle of life has gone awry.
Dreams unrealized, now deceased,
How can this soul rest in peace?
Gone too young from cerebral clot,
You should be here, and now you're not.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust,
Forgive me God, it seems unjust.
But I understand that I can't comprehend
Your plan for us all...just take care of my friend.
