I See It In Your Eyes

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I see it in you eyes when you read your favorite book. When you listen to and read about those myths and legends that cannot be. I see it in your eyes when you play among the waves, running from the foaming sea just to chase it back out again. I see it in your eyes when you watch the twinkling stars go by, when you sit and stare at the moon not wanting to look away. I see it in your eyes while you walk among the trees, listening to them whisper in talk. I see it in your eyes when a playful wind brings golden leaves showering upon your head. I see it in your eyes when a small and soft breeze comes rolling by and even when a strong and forceful gust tosses your hair. I see it in your eyes as you watch the birds fly by, wishing you could fly by too. I see it in your eyes when you watch your cousin play and learn, as you play with her and teach her how her toys work. I see it in your eyes as you sit and talk to cats, as you befriend any animal, I see it in your eyes. I see it in your eyes the innocence that once was there, but rarely do I see it in your eyes now. I see it all in your eyes; the hurt, the pain, the torment of your heart that always seem to be there now. I see it in your eyes rarely, what used to be there all the time. Happiness, innocense, joy, and worry free they were that sometimes now they rarely be. What happened to the bright eyed girl who never cried and was never sad? Where did that carefree girl run off to as you grew older? When did you, when did I, lose that sense of happiness all the time? Who is that joyful girl that your grandmother speaks so fondly of as she remembers you when you were young. Such character did you and I have when the world was still new to us. Zealous and fiery we were when we were younger. I see it in your eyes, that are my eyes. I see it, the child what seems so long ago. I see it in your eyes when you do the things you love. I see it in your eyes.

Awsome.....this is truely a poem that i can relate to. As i have grown older the world has become more ugly to me. For the longest time I couldnt find my self amoung the filth. I was lost in it. I had lost that curiousity and happieness found in a little boy. My childhood all the sudden was lost. It is just seeming to now becoming back to me. But this poem deff describes many emotions I have had. And it goes in to great detail. Keep it up.

Good write! And, I know what you mean! I lost my way while I was raising my 6 children. I am 53 and had a heart attack in January. I am slowly learning to be that carefree person again. Maybe when I am 80 I will even dance in the rain in my underware. LOL
