Nostalgic

For three months we lived
We ate and drank life
Time ceased to exist
We were infinite
Long days followed by long nights
There was no time to sleep
No time to eat
Only time to live
Irene's porch was our home
Smoke was our sustenance
Words were our homage
For three months we knew everything
No responsibilities could hold us
No laws could restrict us
The world was at our finger tips
It's been two years since that summer
Responsibilities are now abundant
Work, college, bills, love, family
They all weigh us down
But for three months
We lived
